Eric Teng 丁行洲
Advisor, The Tecity Group & Tan Chin Tuan Foundation

Mr Eric Teng is Advisor to both The Tecity Group and the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation.

In 2006, Mr Teng became the first non-family-related Chief Executive Officer of the family-based Tan Chin Tuan Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Tecity Group. He relinquished this position with the Foundation in January 2010 when he was appointed the Chief Executive Officer for the Property Division of The Straits Trading Company to which he was seconded in February 2009 as Executive Vice President for Property.

Active in community service, Mr Teng’s involvement in the charity sector include being an elected Board Director with the YMCA since 1985 and its immediate past President from 2005 – 2009. He has also been a Board Member of National Council of Social Service (NCSS) from 1998 – 2006 during which he chaired various committees promoting, developing and managing volunteers in the social service sector.

Currently, he serves on the NCSS Resource Provisions Committee, the Tsunami Reconstruction and Facilitation Committee (TRFC) which oversees and supervises the disbursement of funds and reconstruction work undertaken by NGOs and local agencies, and the Board of National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC).

Before joining the Tecity Group in 2005, Mr Teng, a veteran with more than 20 years’ experience in marketing and communications, worked in the advertising and communications industry.

Mr Teng has been honoured by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents (4As) for 10 years of leadership and contribution to the industry. He was also awarded the prestigious Public Service Medal (PBM) in 2001 by the Singapore Government.
Yap Su-Yin 叶苏莹
(Deputy CEO)

Ms Yap Su-Yin is the Deputy CEO at the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation.

She reviews appeals, channels and aggregates resources, such as funds and expertise, to benefit deserving causes here and in the region.

A former correspondent with The Straits Times' social and community beat, overseeing its weekly Charity-at-Home coverage, she uses her ground-up experience of the charity sector and policies shaping it to advise non-profit groups on how they can build strategic partnerships with donors and beneficiaries.

She was previously based as a correspondent in Thailand and China, covering a range of socio-cultural, political and economic news for various papers in Asia and Europe.

A qualified licentiate from London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Su-Yin also volunteers as an arts trainer for disadvantaged children and youth.
